Getting started & job fit
What is Hike?
Hike is a career intelligence platform for people who want to make more informed career decisions. It helps you understand your fit for a role, see the evidence behind that view and keep track of your career progress.

How does Hike's job fit analysis work?
Hike reads your CV and a job description together to identify matching skills, gaps and cultural-fit signals. It then explains the result in plain English; the 0–100 score is calculated using a fixed formula, not chosen by AI.

Can I analyse a job without paying?
Yes. Hike's free plan needs no card and includes three job fit analyses each month. Create an account to keep your analyses and use Hike's other career tools.

What job links can I use with Hike?
Paste the URL for the role you are considering. Hike is designed to work with common job-board, company careers-page and applicant-tracking-system links, including LinkedIn, Indeed and many ATS listings.
Can Hike guarantee that I will get an interview or job?
No. Hike gives you information and guidance to help you make a stronger decision, but it cannot predict every part of a hiring process. Internal candidates, changing hiring managers and details missing from a job advert can all affect an outcome.
Membership & pricing
Is Hike free?
Hike has a free plan with no card required. It includes three job fit analyses per month, ten Career Sherpa messages a day, application tracking, a summary Career Health Check and access to bolt-ons when you need them.

What does Hike membership include?
Membership currently includes unlimited job fit analyses, unlimited Career Sherpa, the full Career Health Check, career pulse updates and additional career-planning depth. Membership and bolt-ons are separate, so check the pricing page for the latest options and prices.

Do I need membership to use a Hike bolt-on?
No. Some focused services are available as bolt-ons, so you can choose extra support when it is useful without needing membership. The available bolt-ons and their terms are listed on the pricing page.

CVs & evidence
What does Hike do with my CV?
Hike uses the experience and evidence you share to assess fit and, where available, help create a targeted CV. A targeted CV is generated from your own words and should emphasise the experience most relevant to the role without adding qualifications or experience you have not described.
Further reading: How Hike uses AI
Can Hike help me beat applicant tracking systems (ATS)?
Hike can help you understand relevance and present your real experience clearly, but it does not promise to bypass an ATS or guarantee an application result. You should always review a targeted CV carefully and make sure it is accurate before submitting it.

AI, fairness & privacy
How does Hike use AI?
Hike uses third-party large language models to read, interpret and write helpful career content, such as job-fit explanations and targeted CV drafts. Hike's scores are calculated by deterministic code, and AI output is a starting point for your judgement rather than a final verdict.
Further reading: Read Hike's AI transparency page
How does Hike approach bias and fairness?
Hike can flag CV language patterns that may trigger age, gender, ethnicity or socio-economic bias in automated screening. These flags are suggestions based on published research: you decide whether to act on them, and Hike never changes your CV without your instruction.

How does Hike handle my personal data?
Hike uses the information you provide, such as your CV, profile details and job history, to provide its services. Your data is sent to Hike's model provider only to generate a response and is not used to train AI models under Hike's current agreement.

Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. You can request full account deletion from your profile settings at any time. The privacy policy explains the information Hike holds, how long it is retained and how to contact us about your data.

Practical support
Is Hike a recruitment agency?
